Harpers Ferry Station

Location: Harpers Ferry, WV, in West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle

The Harpers Ferry Station was built by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad as its finishing touch on a series of improvements made to the B&O main line at Harpers Ferry between 1892-1894. The station was moved from its original location to its present site in 1931 during a second round of improvements. Designed by architect E. Francis Baldwin, the station is historically significant today, not only for its association with a notable architect, but also because it continues a long record of service for the region's rail passengers. Today, the station is owned by the National Park Service (NPS), and serves as a station stop on Amtrak's Capitol Limited and the Maryland Rail Commuter (MARC) line.
